Lorna Swindlehurst Art Exhibition - Come On Down!

On Saturday 17th September local artist Lorna Swindlehurst will be holding a preview of a month long exhibition of her latest work in the Church Bank Gallery, including her prized portrait of Amy Winehouse. Why not come on down for a glass of wine and a browse of Lorna's new bespoke material between 11am and 4pm!

Lita's art work and a selection of cards, jewellery, ceramics and textiles will also be available for sale with some on special offer.

Unit 1 of Business Boom Bolton's Pop-up Studios is now available for hire on a daily basis within the Churchbank Quarter.

Unit 1 is the first of a number of Pop-up Studios in Bolton that are available to be rented on a short term basis for those within the creative industries. The Pop-up Studios are perfect for part-time photographers, designers, beauticians and artists that either need temporary work space or perhaps wish to exhibit their material in a professional environment. Alternatively, you might need a studio in which to meet potential buyers or clients. Whatever your requirements, the Pop-up Studios are flexible spaces and can be easily rearranged to suit your needs.

PRICE: £80 per day/ £70 (student)

       £45 per half day/ £38 (student)

SIZE: 225 sq ft

LOCATION: Churchbank Quarter, Bolton - close to shops, restaurants and transport links.

Creative Camera now working with future Miss UK contestant

Professional photographers at Creative Camera, part of the Churchbank Quarter, are now working with Miss Teen Galaxy England finalist Abigail Stroud-Mort. The seventeen-year-old from Bromley Cross is currently seeking sponsorship and having recently completed her A-levels at Bolton Sixth Form in photography and Law, she is now looking to the future in her bid to become Miss UK.

Talent Pool Recording Studio

Business Boom Bolton can now disclose more information about the soon-to-be unveiled high street recording studio in Bolton!

As the logo reveals, the studio and website will be named Talent Pool and will be unveiled on Saturday 24th of September on Churchbank, Bolton. The occasion is sure to be a fun-filled event, with celebrity DJ Mark Radcliffe set to attend along with local bands including the Lottery Winners (winners of Live and Unsigned 2010!) arranged to provide fantastic entertainment.

Working in partnership with Booths Music, who many musicians already know are on hand to offer composition and accompaniment tuition, the owner of the new studio Tony Aspinall cannot wait to get the ball rolling. Speaking with Mr Aspinall, he told Business Boom Bolton that "Talent Pool offers a more straight forward and accessible approach to studio recording often not found in more commercial and industrious studios. While that is fine for bands, Talent Pool is suitable for everyone and anyone from children to parent and grandparents". Moreover, the unique aspect of the new studio is the fact that "any solo artist, whether he or she is a singer, guitarist, pianist, drummer or any other type of musician can come in, record their stuff on quality equipment with the backing track of their choice". Mr Aspinall also added that "the main thing about Talent Pool is that it will be a day to remember for all involved and the product that you will receive will be something to treasure forever".
